First Steps in Filmmaking

Love to daydream? Wander around imaginary worlds? Make up stories? Or simply like watching films? The time has come to make your First Steps in Filmmaking! At this two-day workshop, the participants, mentored by the award-winning director and this year’s KinoKino jury member Čejen Černić, will create their first real film story and shape it into a synopsis, or rather a template for a feature film screenplay suitable for their peers. The result of their joint creative effort will be entered into the Croatian Audio-visual Centre’s open call for script development, which might lead to making a new Croatian film for children. With the help of different creative and educational techniques, the workshop is conceived as an encouragement for children to materialise their dream worlds on paper, but also to experience team work as a necessary tool for future situations in life.
