Ten-year-old Oskar dreams of riding a horse through the North American prairie. His mother gets a new job in the States and he should be joining her soon. In the meantime he needs to spend his summer at his grandfather’s farm, with this cranky old man who never shows any interest in him. Oskar becomes friends with Levi, an outsider, and his near-sighted horse. They make crazy plans about rowing across the Atlantic in a boat, together with Levi’s horse and find Oskar’s Mum. A touching and heart-warming debut film about big dreams and an unusual friendship, playing with the western genre in the dreary Nordic landscape.
