It is spring in a village in Cyprus and little Socrates enjoys his favourite pastimes: he plays with homemade fireworks, rides around on a moped and defies his mother. As Easter approaches, Socrates comes up with the idea of making the largest firecracker in the world and activating it on Good Saturday. The device explodes, a part of the church collapses, and an old man is buried under the ruins. Socrates finds himself in the spotlight until a much serious crime is revealed. When his friend is arrested for the crime, Socrates, assured of his innocence, decides to find the real criminal.
